Cute & Colorful Ice Cubes

Add a little flower power to your next summer get together with floral ice cubes – easy to make and oh so cute to look at! These little beauties are sure to brighten up your beverage and make a great conversation starter at the next cook out.

Sure, they’re too pretty to eat…. but you can if you wanted to! That’s right, the flower petals are fully edible! So how do you make the floral ice cubes?

First, take your blooms and lay them in the bottom of the ice cube tray. It’s best to use a larger ice cube tray if you can find one so the ice takes longer to melt once in the cup.

Next, add the water! You’ll want to only fill each sqaure up with about 25% of the water and then place in the freezer to freeze.

Once frozen, take the tray out – you’ll see that the flowers have been frozen towards the top… now you’ll add more water. This makes the flowers look centered within the cube. If you’d like to add another layer of flowers this would also be the time to do so.

Once the cubes are completely solid you can pop them out! Another great tip is to use a silicone tray if you have one available. This makes it easier when removing the cubes from the tray.

What a colorful and creative touch for your next event!
