Moveable Feast serves individuals who have a critical and
life threatening illness which prevents them from accessing,
affording or preparing medically appropriate meals for themselves.
Severe malnutrition can be a life-threatening condition, can leading
to ‘wasting syndrome,’ and is a frequent cause of hospitalization for
people living with HIV/AIDS. People with AIDS and other
life-challenging conditions often are caught in a vicious cycle of poor
appetite and physical weakness that prevents them from providing
adequate meals for themselves. Low income, in combination with high
healthcare costs, limit the ability of those with severe illness to afford
nutritious food. Their illness may place limits on physical activity, make it
impossible to hold a job, or may expose them to social stigma and
isolation from their community, family, and friends. Severe malnutrition
can be a life-threatening condition, can lead to ‘wasting syndrome,’ and
is a frequent cause of hospitalization for People Living With HIV/AIDS.
That’s why Moveable Feast is here – to be a support system for people
who are sick and need our help. Moveable Feast provides medically
nutritious meals and other services at no cost to our neighbors in need.
