Since succulents are part of the cactus family,
they have a unique adaptation that allows them to tolerate
limited watering and higher temperatures better than
most houseplants. Which means if you are a bit of a black thumb,
succulents are the perfect pick for you!

The word "succulent" comes from the Latin word sucus, meaning juice which makes sense since succulents are plants that have parts that retain water in excessively dry conditions. They aren't afraid to show you when they are feeling too neglected or shown too much love by over watering. If their leaves turn brown, they most likely have been exposed to sun damage. This is easy to fix, remove them from the area they are in where they are in direct sun. Yellow leaves are less common to see, they mean your succulents would like new soil. Your succulents will maintain their home in the same soil for quite some time, but if you happen to see yellow make sure you refresh the soil to fully fertilize your plants. And lastly, you may at some time see black. STOP WATERING! Black signifies that you have show your plant a little too much love and the root is drowning. Let your succulent completely dry out for a week or two before watering again.
